Free Self Help Article Question Background
I've been looking into the Law of Attraction (LOA) methods, courses and reading many different eBooks put out by 'experts' in the field, and have stumbled, nay, tripped on a problem. Roughly half the documentation says you need to work toward your desired outcome when manifesting a new reality of how you wish your life to be. The other half screams that work of any kind toward that end is not only counterproductive but can sabotage it entirely.
And even the thing that both sides have in common is the claim of knowing the 'one hidden secret' that allows success while 99% of LOA practitioners who fail don't have. And that would be okay if it were the same secret or piece of knowledge each time. Usually, said secret is so easy and simple they don't know why everyone doesn't know and use it. They've spent years and thousands of dollars researching and refining it and just so happen to have incorporated it into a program that promises complete success for a fee.
Free Self Help Article Question - If the LOA Works So Well For You Then Why Do You Need My Money in Exchange for its So-called Secrets?
So my question is this, what if anything should I believe or trust from folks who are proponents of LOA, citing scads of testimonials thanking them for opening up this wonderful world changing secret to them... and all the while, half of them conflict fundamentally with the other half on how they say to accomplish success with
Namely, I find it frustrating beyond belief the advice of, "Do nothing and let the Universe take care of it, this is the only path to success" vs. "You must take massive action once you put your LOA vision out there or you won't succeed."
And they all seem to be marketing their 'secret' in the form of an insanely discounted price. Seriously? The LOA works so well for you that you need to ask me for money?
So yeah, there it is, my question, such as it is.
Thank you again, for both your time and attention.
Thanks very much for your question Timothy.
I can’t comment on the works or methods of any particular authors as you haven’t mentioned anyone by name. However, after reading through your question several times, a couple of things spring to mind, as indicated below.
There are as many different teachers as there are students, so the first step in choosing a teacher to believe is to use discernment to discover how any particular teacher makes you feel. If a particular teacher resonates with you then that tells you s/he has something to offer you. If they don’t resonate with you then their teachings probably won’t work for you. The basis of existence is vibration, so make sure they resonate with you before proceeding!
Remember that the word 'Secret' is very powerful and that’s why it’s used by all kinds of people when doing their marketing. That being said look at it this way: let’s say that someone who had no idea about Universal laws was attracted to a book title that contained 'LOA Secrets.' Now, even though the book itself might not contain useful or correct information, the person’s interest in the LOA has been sparked and they may decide upon further inquiry. So even a seemingly negative idea can be turned into a positive when looked at from another angle.
Furthermore, while there are no real secrets in the sense of anything that’s ultimately being kept from you, certain things, ideas and knowledge will remain invisible to you until you can match its vibrational frequency. That is to say, you cannot see what’s outside the range of your vibrational frequency, thus raising your frequency reveals that which heretofore was invisible to you!
Personally I’ve moved beyond the term LOA. When you go deeper into the idea of Universal laws you’ll discover that everything exists as its own discrete vibrational frequency within the idea of here and now. This means that although we can still use the colloquial term LOA, it’s slightly misleading in the sense that everything already exists here and now, so nothing actually comes from anywhere else (there isn’t anywhere else), so nothing is really attracted to you.
Now, obviously, we’re still left with the question of, as you say, 'how to manifest a new preferred reality experience,' right? The point is still to pay more attention to what’s wanted than to what’s unwanted, even though the unwanted may be your current experience; simply because that will keep you in a positive high vibrational state (the preferred state of being).
The only things which are really keeping the wanted away from you are (on a physical level) your own resistance to your own idea and (on a non-physical level) the timing that you desire in order to experience any process you’ve setup. The steps are really quite simple:
Focus upon what you want (visualize and feel)
Relax and enjoy your life
Take inspired action when you feel the nudge (that's inspiration)
Don’t fret and worry about your desire
If you do those steps, then whatever time is needed for 'your process' to run its course is the time that the manifestation will take to occur and BE your new reality.
In general, act upon your desire, passion, excitement in every moment you’re able to, taking it as far as you can until you can take it no further, then act upon the next thing that excites you. All the while, have no expectation, assumption or demand that it ought to or must turn out in any particular way at all (bashar.org).
In short, do what excites you the most.
Enjoy your life!
